Before Junction Road’s much-needed gentrification began around 2010 the entire upper half of the high street was littered with equally horrendous £3.50 fry-up joints and kebab shops of the lowest grade. The opening of Bread & Bean introduced some very welcome change – finally some decent barista-style coffee and good, hearty and non processed breakfast.
I always found it very entertaining that B&B placed itself at the same corner as a Costa – the “old” Junction Road clientele on one side and the fancy “new” clientele on the other. Despising each other across the street while sipping lattes.
Bread and Bean is good value. For an otherwise still quite starved for quality area this is a solid choice and delivers some tasty calories.
Amazingly, still no website? Here is a Google Page instead.
